Argan Inc : Building the Power Infrastructure Behind the AI Revolution
Updated: 7 days ago
I rate Argan Inc a Strong Buy because I believe its EPC franchise sits at the center of the accelerating U.S. power infrastructure buildout driven by AI data centers, electrification, manufacturing reshoring, and aging generation replacement. This positioning provides exceptional backlog visibility, strong cash generation, and exposure to one of the most attractive long-term infrastructure themes in the market.
Growth will be fueled by increased demand for natural gas generation, renewable energy projects, grid modernization, and AI-related power additions. Argan's record $2.9 billion backlog, $2.5 billion in new contract awards for Fiscal 2026, and expanding project pipeline ensure sustained revenue and earnings growth in the coming years.
Valuation appears justified despite trading at a premium to traditional EPC peers. Relative to AECOM and Fluor, Argan commands higher earnings and EV/EBITDA multiples due to its superior profitability, debt-free balance sheet, approximately $895 million in cash and investments, and unusually strong earnings visibility from backlog conversion.
On December 12th, we will be bringing together investors and long-term thinkers at Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club, Nanyuki for the Annual Henriot Capital Investor’s Summit. A full day of research, markets, meaningful conversations and shared experiences, built around one idea: long-term wealth conversations for future generations. Request an invitation below.
