Vicor's Backlog Breakout Is Real, but Gen 5 Needs More Time
CURRENT PRICE $187.68 | BASE TARGET $219 | EXPECTED RETURN +16.7%
Summary
I am maintaining a buy on VICR's since it's 2Q FY2026 revenue of $143.4Mn beat the $138.4Mn consensus by 3.6%, while gross margin rose to 58.0% and diluted EPS of $1.04 beat consensus by 59.5%.
The demand, licensing, and operating-leverage pillars strengthened, but the broader second-generation VPD ramp now appears weighted to the second half of 2027, later than the prior thesis assumed.
My base case uses 2027 revenue of about $999Mn, EPS of $6.35, a 40x forward P/E, and a 12% discount rate to reach a present target of $219.
